The US Commission on International Religious Freedom has requested the case to be brought to the International Criminal Court after recognizing the oppression of women in the 2022 movement in Iran as a "crime against humanity".
Commissioner of the USCIRF Eric Euland said: "The report of the UN Fact-Finding Committee on the suppression of protests in Iran shows that the rights of religion and other freedoms have been clearly violated by the Tehran regime."
Euland also asked Biden government to apply international sanctions, ban visas to Iranian officials and implement additional measurements.
Other commissioner of the USCIRF Stephen Schenck, proposed to the US Congress to create conditions for Iranian religious minorities to settle in the country.
A few days ago, the UN Fact-Finding Committee presented its report on the suppressions on protests in Iran and stressed that the rights of minorities in the country were violated on a large scale
