A Republican senator proposed to sink Iranian ships if the Houthis continue their attacks in the Red Sea, in the period of time when the unofficial talks between the US and Iran held in Oman.
Senator Don Sullivan of the State of Alaska sent a letter to President Biden about this.
“Tell Iran that the next Houthi missile / drone launched at an American ship will result in the sinking of Iran’s spy ships that target our Navy. These terrorists are trying to kill U.S. sailors, and at some point, they might succeed.” – he wrote.
On March 14, the Financial Times magazine reported that American and Iranian representatives had a secret and informal meeting in Muscat, the capital of Oman.
The purpose of the meeting was to convince Tehran to use its influence to stop its attacks on ships in the Red Sea.
