Russia warned Armenia about anti-Russian policy

During the contacts, Moscow discusses with Armenia the participation of the Western countries in the anti-Russian course of Yerevan in order to warn about the risks, some arguments were accepted by Armenia.

Maria Zakharova, the Director of the Information and Press Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, told RIA Novosti.

"Unfortunately, we have been observing this trend for a long time and we are talking about it. We are talking with our Armenian colleagues and partners, including in a very confidential manner, with only one goal – just to warn," Zakharova stressed.

She added that some of Moscow's arguments were accepted by the Armenian side, and certain measures were even taken: "We understand that states and the collective West as a whole have been using tactics to treat countries and peoples as tools for decades and centuries. If there were no such examples in our region, one would probably think that the United States and the collective West would not apply this tactic specifically to the post-Soviet space."

According to Zakharova, Moscow sincerely wants Armenia to preserve its sovereignty and pursue a policy based on national interests.
