This was reported by Iranian media.

Iranian Defense Minister Mohammed-Reza Ashtiani met with his Syrian counterpart Ali Mahmoud Abbas in Tehran on the evening of March 16.

Ashtiani condemned Israel's air attacks on Syria and said that Iran will continue its support in the direction of Syria's defense.

Shortly after the meeting, Israeli Army launched rocket attacks on the southern regions of Syria.

“SANA”, the official news agency of Syria, reported that the attack caused destruction and one soldier died.

London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that two powerful explosions occurred near Damascus.

It was mentioned that one of the explosions occurred in the ammunition depot of the Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah.

After Hamas-led attack on Israel on October 7 started, Israel increased its attacks on Iranian-backed armed groups in Syria as part of the fight against the supplies of Tehran's allied groups in the region.

As a result of the attacks, the centers of the Syrian army, the Lebanese Hezbollah terrorist group, Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and other groups in Iran were targeted.

Iranian government repeatedly issued threatening statements to Israel that it will take revenge for killing high-ranking officers of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps.

After these threatening statements several opponents and prisoners, who were arrested during the protests, were executed alleged to be Israeli spies.
