Israel targets sites belonging to IRGC

Airstrikes on Iran-affiliated groups' bases in Syria in the early hours of March 26 were in response to the Tehran government's attempts to deliver large amounts of weapons to fighters in the West Bank.

The foreign media reported this, citing an unnamed Israeli security official.

According to reports, the most recent airstrike is part of a long-running operation against the Special Operations Division of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps' Intelligence Organization, led by Jawad Ghafari.

"In this operation, the Israeli Security Agency (Shin Bet) and the Israeli army discovered and destroyed the weapons transfer route," according to an Israeli source.

It should be noted that the number of Iranian militants killed as a result of the air attack reached 15, and the number of wounded reached 34. The IRGC's military advisor, Behrouz Vahedi, was among those killed.

The airstrike occurred a few hours after an Iranian transport plane carrying IRGC members and logistical equipment landed at Deir Ezzor Airport.

Syria claimed that the US carried out the attack.
