Iran prosecutes over 90 media workers in 3 months

The latest report from Defending Free Flow of Information reveals the Iranian mullah regime's suppression of media workers.

According to the report, at least 91 journalists, media activists, and media organizations have been harassed, summoned to court, and arrested over the last three months.

It was reported that a criminal case was opened against a number of journalists on the orders of the security departments.

It was reported that only in March, 12 journalists were arrested, and 9 media workers were summoned to the security agencies.

The authors of the report wrote that 24 journalists and media leaders, including 7 women and 17 men, were sentenced to 14 years and 7 months in prison over a period of 3 months.

Furthermore, it was stated that the media workers had been exiled, removed from journalism, banned from social media activities, and barred from leaving the country.
