Iran's head of judiciary calls for stricter mandatory hijab rules

Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Eje'i, Chairman of Iran's Judiciary, stated in a meeting with a number of Iranian media officials on April 7 that the mandatory hijab rules are not followed in society and that action should be taken.

According to some experts, these statements could lead to an increase in mandatory hijab laws and societal conflicts.

It should be noted that the head of Iran, Ali Khamenei, once again insisted on the observance of the mandatory hijab a week ago.

For this reason, the chairman of the judiciary said that pending the approval of the draft law on those who do not observe the mandatory hijab in the Islamic Council Assembly, actions will be taken within the framework of existing laws.

"I still believe that hijab situation in the society can be improved by following the existing laws," Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Eje'i emphasized.
