Hossein Amir-Abdollahian arrived in Damascus after the Israeli attack on the Iranian consulate on April 1. During the attack, high-ranking leaders of SEPAH terrorist organization, including Mohammad Reza Zahedi, were killed. Mohammad Reza Zahedi was the commander in charge of the Quds Force, the IRGC's foreign operations wing in Syria and Lebanon.

During his visit to Damascus, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian held meetings with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, Foreign Minister Faysal Mekdad and Syrian National Security officials.

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, who spoke at a joint press conference with his Syrian counterpart, claimed that Israel would receive a "response" to the attack on the consulate and at the same time blamed the United States for the incident.

We should note that Israel stated that the destroyed building was not a consulate building, as claimed by the Tehran regime, but a building used for military purposes.
