The Argentine government demands the arrest of Iranian Interior Minister Ahmed Vahidi, claiming that he was responsible for the 1994 terrorist attack on the Jewish Cultural Center in Buenos Aires.
This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"Argentina seeks the international arrest of those responsible for the AMIA attack in 1994, which killed 85 people and who continue to hold their positions with complete impunity. One of them is Ahmad Vahidi, who is wanted by Argentine authorities for his role in the attack on AMIA, according to the foreign ministry's statement.
It should be noted that this person is currently the Minister of Interior of the Islamic Republic of Iran and is a member of the government delegation on a visit to Pakistan and Sri Lanka, which was one of the reasons for the Argentine judiciary's attack on AMIA.
In mid-April, Argentina's Federal Chamber of Criminal Cassation blamed Iran for the attack after hearing several cases related to the 1994 terrorist attack on the Jewish Cultural Center in Buenos Aires.
It should be remembered that on June 18, 1994, terrorists affiliated with Iran detonated a bomb in the Jewish Assistance Center building in Argentina's capital, killing 85 Jews and injuring over 300 others.
Argentina currently has 230 thousand Jews, and because it is the sixth-largest Jewish population after Israel, it has always been one of Iran's terrorist targets.
