Protests in support of Toomaj Salehi were held

Following the death sentence conviction, protests against Iranian authorities took place in a number of countries.

Iranians and human rights activists staged massive demonstrations in Prague, Geneva, Stockholm, Malmö, Copenhagen, Cologne, Dusseldorf, Montreal, Vancouver, Washington, New York, and San Francisco.

Protesters gathered in the central squares of the cities mentioned, as well as in front of Iran's diplomatic missions, to demand that Toomaj Salehi's death sentence be overturned.

They appealed to the international community and states to put pressure on the Tehran regime to stop executions.

It should be noted that Iranian security officials arrested rapper Toomaj Salehi on October 30, 2022, for singing songs in support of those protesting against the government. Although the Iranian court sentenced him to death, his case was reconsidered, and the protesting rapper's sentence was reduced to 6 years and 3 months in prison.

The well-known protesting rapper's prison sentence was changed to death on April 24 by the first department of the Revolutionary Court of Isfahan.
