The 33rd division of the Appellate Court of East Azerbaijan province upheld the 8-month prison sentence imposed by the first-instance court on national activist Salar Tahir Afshar of Urmia.

Milad Jalili, an artist and rapper from Tabriz, was also sentenced to six months in prison.
They were arrested on charges of "propaganda against the state structure and activities threatening national security."
