A criminal case has been opened against the Azerbaijani teacher

Ali Haji, a teacher from Julfa in East Azerbaijan Province who serves on the Board of Directors of the Teachers' Union, has been charged with a new crime.

This was reported by the Coordinating Council of Organizations of Trade Unions of Iranian Educational Workers.

Tehran Province's Department of Administrative Errors in Education has filed a court case against teacher Ali Haji, a Julfa City Education Workers' Union activist.

He has been accused of "inciting public opinion and creating anxiety" through his social media posts.

Prior to that, in January, an Azerbaijani teacher was punished for a critical social media post and suspended from teaching for six months.

It is worth noting that, according to the most recent report on the punishment and dismissal of dissident teachers, hundreds of teachers have been fired for holding secular meetings since 2006.

Specifically, following the protests that began in September 2022, dozens of teachers involved in society were accused of "propaganda against the government."
