Dozens of villages in Iran lack clean water

Tens of thousands of people were left without water when the Selin river flooded in the Kaleybar and Khudafarin regions of East Azerbaijan province, causing damage to 114 villages' water supplies.

Local media reported on this.

According to the relevant local government agencies, steps have been taken to address the issue and they are working to restore the water supply.

Social media posts from the locals claimed that the water supply in the area had been cut off and that no action had been taken.

They claimed that water distribution stations were constructed in the wrong locations and that the constructed water lines did not adhere to standards. Numerous villages were cut off from the outside world due to the damage to regional roads, and there was a scarcity of food and drink.
