Mujtaba Rahimi, an Azerbaijani journalist and social media activist from Qazvin in southern Azerbaijan, Iran, received a fine.
He posted about it on his social media accounts.
"After the presidential election ended on July 13, I was sentenced to a fine of 6 million 600 million Iranian tomans (170 dollars at the official exchange rate) for 'spreading false information and confusing public opinion'," the journalist wrote.
It should be noted that 113 social media activists were arrested in connection with Rand's presidential election, and the majority of them were released on bail after being interrogated.
