The national activist's period of conviction is over

Ismayil Ahmadi, a national and environmental activist from the Varzigan region of East Azerbaijan province, has served his sentence.

It was reported that Ismayil Ahmadi was released from the prison in Ahar city after serving 9 months of imprisonment.

On April 19, Ismayil Ahmadi was transferred to Ahar prison to serve a 9-month prison sentence.

The activist was charged with "insulting the saints," "inciting citizens to commit crimes against the internal and external security of the country," "contacting opposition groups," "spreading false information," and "propaganda against the government."
