Nurses held a protest in Hamadan

Following the strikes and protest actions of nurses in different cities of Iran, a similar action was held in the city of Hamadan in South Azerbaijan on August 20.

They take issue with inadequate pay, late payments, and failure to provide other legally mandated rights.

Protests that have been going on for a few days now have tens of thousands of nurses participating.

When the police broke up the protest in Arak city on August 19, the nurses were physically assaulted, and two of them were taken into custody.

It should be mentioned that Iran has 1.6 nurses per 1000 people, compared to the World Health Organization's recommended minimum of 3 nurses per 1000 people.
