Iran unjustly fined national activist

Behzad Khudabandalu, a national activist from the province of West Azerbaijan's Goshachay (Miyandab), Iran, received a fine.

This was reported by local human rights activists. 

According to information, the fine was issued by the Revolutionary Court of Goshachay city.

Behzad Khudabandalu was reportedly fined 6,600,000 Iranian tomans (200 AZN) for misleading the public and disseminating false information.

On March 4, Behzad Khudabandalu—who had previously been arrested multiple times for his nonviolent actions—was called to the prosecutor's office for the last time.

After several hours of questioning, the activist was given a 300 million bail and was later temporarily released pending trial.
