National activist Karim Esmayilzadeh, who was arrested in Tabriz's central prison, is released.
Human rights activists reported this with reference to his family.
"Although Karim Esmayilzadeh was released after serving his 6-month sentence, he still has serious health issues, and his life is in danger," the report stated.
Human rights defenders stated that the Azerbaijani activist's health deteriorated as a result of the harsh prison conditions and lack of treatment.
Prior to that, Esmayilzadeh's condition deteriorated, and despite doctors' recommendations that he be treated outside of prison, the prison administration refused.
It is worth noting that Ismayilzade, accused of "inciting and inviting people to violent actions in cyberspace," was arrested on April 17 and transferred to Tabriz prison to serve a 6-month sentence.
