Dengue fever is spreading across Iran

In the first week of September, 178 cases of Dengue fever were reported in Iran. Dengue (break-bone fever) is a viral infection that spreads from mosquitoes to people.

Shahnam Arshi, director of the Ministry of Health's Center for Combating Infectious Diseases, shared information.

He claimed that those infected with the disease were found only in one region of the country.

According to Arshi, many of the diagnosed individuals were international travelers. Dengue fever is a naturally transmitted disease that causes high fever, severe muscle and joint pain, rash, hemorrhage, and lymphadenopathy. Monkeys, squirrels, birds, as well as mosquitoes are considered to spread the virus.
