According to reports, the court was presided over by judge Abbas Salavatin, who is known for his hostility toward national activists.

The activists were accused of "gathering and conspiring to undermine the security of the country" and spreading "propaganda against the system."

The national activist Murtaza Parvin made his defense speech in Turkish, so the court ordered a translator despite the judge's objections.

Murtaza Parvin, a national-cultural activist arrested in his private Ardabil apartment on February 6, was transferred to Tehran's Evin prison's isolation ward on February 11th.

Following M. Parvin's arrest, his apartment was searched, and his mobile phone and laptop were confiscated.
