The rector of the Rasht University of Medical Sciences, Mohammad Taghi Ashubi, provided information on this.

He claims that alcohol poisoning caused the deaths of 57 people. Although some were able to return home after receiving first aid, 27 people were hospitalized.

The condition of four people admitted to the intensive care unit is currently described as serious. It should be noted that because the production of alcoholic beverages is illegal in Iran, thousands of people are poisoned and killed each year as a result of illicit production.

Abbas Majidi, the head of Iran's Medical Expertise Center, recently stated that 644 people died as a result of consuming non-standard alcohol in the previous year.
