Activist from Urmia was sentenced to 5 years in Prison

An arrest warrant has been issued for Salar Tahir Afshar, a national activist from the South Azerbaijani city of Urmia.

According to reports, the 15th branch of Tehran's Revolutionary Court sentenced the activist to 5 years in prison on charges of "assembling and colluding against the country's internal and external security."

On May 21, Salar Tahir Afshar and another activist from Rasht, Vadud Asadi, appeared in court.

It should be noted that on February 6, the national activist was detained in Urmia and transferred to Tehran's Evin prison before being temporarily released on bail on February 28.

He was arrested again on June 5 and transferred to Tabriz prison, where he was released on July 13 wearing electronic handcuffs.
