Ebrahim Raisi's government was required to build one million houses each year. The website "Khabaronline" stated that "at least 2 million state-built apartments should have been delivered to homeless families at a low cost.

However, according to a report issued by the Iranian Parliament's research department, "only 20,000 residential buildings have been completed from the National Housing Movement plan" as of August.

It should be noted that in May of this year, Iran's then-Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Arslan Maliki, claimed that 2,500,000 residential buildings had been constructed and announced that "National Housing" houses would be distributed to applicants by the end of the year.
