In South Azerbaijan's Qazvin province, sewage and dirty water are discharged into agricultural fields.
Local residents spread information about this on social media.
According to them, the long-standing environmental problem harms the region's agricultural fields as well as the health of its residents.
The residents of Qazvin stated that they donated 15 hectares of farmland to the municipality and the Water and Sewerage Department for the installation and construction of water treatment facilities.
"Despite the fact that our land has been given for years, it has not been used for its intended purpose, and the implementation of the planned project has not yet begun," said the farmers.
The fact was confirmed by Fatima Qasimi, head of the Department of Sustainable Development and Technological Issues of the Agricultural Organization of Qazvin Province.
She stated that the lack of cleaning facilities in the areas jeopardizes the population's health and the safety of agricultural products.
