The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs referred to the accusations as "fabricated" in their commentary on the news.

The Canadian police have located two suspects in connection with a potential assassination attempt, according to the "Globe and Mail" newspaper.

Irwin Cotler, now 84, served as Canada's Minister of Justice and Attorney General from 2003 to 2006. He left politics in 2015 and has since focused on human rights issues.
