In the last two days, 12 prisoners were executed in Iranian prisons in Mashhad, Karaj, Yazd, Lakan, and Zahidan.
Human rights organizations reported on this.
According to reports, nine of those executed were accused of drug trafficking, while three were accused of murder.
This brings the total number of people executed in Iranian prisons this year to more than 850.
It is worth noting that Amnesty International, the UN Human Rights Council, and the European Parliament have all recently called on the Iranian government to halt the executions.
Despite this, the use of this form of punishment has grown in Iranian prisons.
