Roshanak Molaei, an Azerbaijani activist who was arrested and held in Qarchak prison for opposing the laws requiring the hijab, was freed after being flogged.
This was reported by the Iranian Women's Union.
The number of lashes and the charges against them were not disclosed in the report.
It should be mentioned that Molayi was called to the police after a video went viral on social media that showed her retaliating against a government official who made fun of her for not wearing the required hijab.
Molayi, 25, was taken to Garchak prison in Varami after visiting the police station on October 12.
He had previously been imprisoned in Tehran's Evin and Garchak prisons after being arrested for taking part in mass demonstrations in September 2021.
