Germany, Britain and France said on Monday they were "extremely concerned" about Iran's acceleration in its capacity for enrichment of uranium, urging Iran to halt and reverse these steps.

Germany, Britain and France said on Monday they were "extremely concerned" about Iran's acceleration in its capacity for enrichment of uranium, urging Iran to halt and reverse these steps.
This was reported by the "Reuters".
Rafael Grossi, the head of the UN nuclear watchdog International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), told Reuters on Friday that Iran was accelerating its uranium enrichment to up to 60% purity, which is close to the 90% level required for weapons.
The raw material is refined through enrichment so that it can be used as fuel for nuclear weapons or, possibly, civil nuclear power generation. Iran has denied pursuing nuclear weapons for a long time.
In a joint statement, Germany, Britain, and France—collectively referred to as the E3—denounced Iran's recent actions to dramatically boost the rate of uranium enriched up to 60% at the underground Fordow facility.
"The fact that Iran has expanded the number of centrifuges in operation and begun planning to install more enrichment infrastructure, thereby expanding Iran's enrichment capacity, is also very concerning," they stated.
The 2015 nuclear agreement has been further undermined by Iran's actions, which will raise the country's stockpile of highly enriched uranium, which already has "no credible civilian justification," they continued.
"We strongly urge Iran to immediately halt its nuclear escalation and to reverse these steps," they stated.
