The Iranian government reopened its embassy in Damascus, the Syrian capital, following the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad.
The information was spread through IRGC-related social media channels.
It was reported that the diplomatic mission operates in normal daily routine. This was not confirmed by Syrian official media or new government officials.
It should be noted that employees of the Iranian embassy were evacuated on December 7. It should be noted that prior to this, the leader of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), Abu Mohammad al-Jolani, declared Iran an enemy of Syria.
He emphasized that they are willing to work with all of the countries in the region, but Iran is not part of this process.
