The Iranian regime refuses to provide Atakhan with a birth certificate

The Citizenship Registration Organization refuses to issue a birth certificate to Atakhan, a South Azerbaijani child who has been living in Shabustar's Nadarli village for 13 months.

A source close to Atakhan's family provided information about the current situation: "This child was born on November 20, 2023, and his parents named him Atakhan, but the registry office of Shabustar city in East Azerbaijan province refused to issue a birth certificate."

It should be noted that after a four-year struggle, Adil Chobani's family was able to obtain a birth certificate for their children under the name "Atakhan" in 2022.

This contradicts the government officials' claim that Turkish names are not on the list of acceptable names. If a name has already been issued a birth certificate, it indicates that the name has been added to the accepted list.

Thus, the regime not only demonstrated racist behavior toward Turkish names, but they also chewed up the laws they accepted.
