Human rights organizations reported this based on information provided by family members.

According to reports, the activist has kidney disease, and despite doctors' recommendations that he must have operation, the prison administration refuses to treat him.

"The other day, Mukhtar Ibrahimi was transferred to the prison's medical center after fainting due to kidney pain, and he was only returned to the ward after being given painkillers," the report stated.

Furthermore, it was discovered that the activist's condition worsened as a result of the non-delivery of medicines sent to him by the family members.

It should be mentioned that Mukhtar Ibrahimi was previously detained in 2020 on charges of "becoming a member of opposition groups and networks" and "creating an organization and group against the government."

After 21 days, Ibrahimi was temporarily released on bail from Maragha prison, where he had been detained since August 26, 2020. On January 22, 2024, he was transferred to Maraga prison after being found guilty of "propaganda against the government" and given a one-year prison sentence.
