This is stated in the report of the Iranian Ministry of Health.

According to the report, this was discovered as a result of investigations conducted three years ago. Vahid Shariat, the head of the Iranian Psychiatric Association, stated that the number of citizens suffering from mental illnesses is higher than the official report.

"There is no law in Iran that examines and demonstrates how to solve problems associated with psychiatric disorders," he stated.

Vahid Shariat identified depression and anxiety as the most common mental disorders in Iran, emphasizing that the rate of depression is higher in women. It should be noted that the number of suicides in Iran has risen dramatically as a result of mental health issues.

Over the last seven years, 40 thousand of the hundreds of thousands of Iranians who attempted suicide died as a result of suicide. Psychologists believe this is caused by hopelessness, poverty, unemployment, and other issues.
