This was said by the head of the Institute of Labor and Social Security, Ebrahim Sadighifar.

"Poverty is the main problem in Iran today, and it has become an undeniable reality that affects a large segment of the population," he stated.

Sadighifar presented current statistics, which show that the number of people who avoid education is increasing as a result of economic and social issues.

He stated that, despite Iran's abundant oil resources, it is necessary to investigate why poverty remains at this level.

At the same time, Iran's "Eqtisad" newspaper reported that 26 million people in the country are impoverished. It should be noted that the "Majlis" Research Center recently released a report revealing that more than 30% of the country's population is poor.
