Türkiye holds "Mavi Vatan-2025" naval exercies

Türkiye will conduct the "Mavi Vatan-2025" (Blue Homeland 2025) naval exercises from January 7 to 16.

The maneuvers will take place across the Black Sea, Aegean Sea, and Eastern Mediterranean.

At the Navy Command in the Golcuk district of Kocaeli province, admirals from the Turkish Navy gave the media a briefing on the exercises' schedule and specifics. The Mavi Vatan-2025 exercises will be organized by the Turkish Navy Command in accordance with the Armed Forces' training program, according to Turkish Navy Chief of Staff Rear Admiral Kenan Kaan Türkkan.

These drills are a component of Türkiye's continuous endeavors to strengthen its naval presence in the area and improve its maritime defense capabilities.

Assessing the operational effectiveness and preparedness of naval commands, improving unit operational readiness, enhancing staff and unit analysis and decision-making skills in the event of multiple threats, and testing coordination among participating forces and commands are the main goals of the Mavi Vatan-2025 exercises.

"Approximately 90 ships, 50 aircraft, and a total of 20,000 personnel will participate in the exercises. In addition to general-purpose helicopters and CH-47 helicopters from the Army Command, assault aircraft from the Air Force Command, long-range radar aircraft from the early warning and air traffic control systems, tow aircraft, and six coast guard boats will also be involved," he said. 

These exercises are aimed at ensuring Türkiye's readiness to face diverse challenges while strengthening collaboration among different branches of the military.

During the Mavi Vatan-2025 exercises, operational training will focus on various types of naval operations, including the coordination of coast guard units and responding to multiple simultaneous threats.

The TCG Oruçreis domestic ship, modernisation of which has been completed, will also participate in the drills.
