In response to a potential Turkish military operation, the organization is thought to have brought the terrorists to Syrian territory to strengthen its occupation of the Ayn al-Arab region.

In the Qamishli region and the central Hasakah province, the PKK/YPG assembles its supporters from Iraq and Iran. The terrorists transport the supporters gathered in these locations to their camps in Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor, where they are given armed training.

The PKK/YPG, which still controls one-third of Syria, ensures that terrorists pass through the logistics route from northern Iraq to northeastern Syria.
