This was stated by Iranian Health Minister Mohammadreza Zafargandi.

According to him, the country's air, particularly in major cities, has been polluted for 247 days in the last year.

Sumeyya Rafiqi, chairman of the Environment Committee of the Iranian parliament's Agriculture Commission, previously stated that air pollution would kill 30,000 people in the country by 2023.

She blamed the nation's leaders for failing to act on this issue, even though the rise in air pollution has killed tens of thousands of people.

Rafiqi accused the government of failing to enforce the clean air law, saying, "The rise in the number of deaths shows that the clean air law in the country is not being fully implemented."
