He denied allegations of human rights violations in Iran at a meeting of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva.

Kazem Gharib Abadi, who claims that there is no gender discrimination in Iran and that women's rights are protected, stated that the report by May Sato, the UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in Iran, "does not reflect the truth."

Human rights defenders condemned Kazem Gharib Abadi's speech as ideological and political propaganda by Iran, with no relevance to the issue of human rights.

Speaking at the meeting, Sweden's representative expressed deep concern about the human rights situation in Iran, including the treatment of women and girls, as well as the widespread use of the death penalty.

According to a report by human rights organizations, 930 of the more than 1,000 prisoners executed in Iran in 2024 could be identified, with the number of executions increasing by 24% over 2023. Thirty-one of those executed were women, with five being minors.
