According to reports, American pressure and international sanctions are primarily to blame for this.

Brands like Apple, IBM, and HP have also reduced their operations, and some have entirely withdrawn from the Iranian market as a result of the process and the gradual departure of major technology companies.

Other brands, including Asus and Lenovo, have recently joined the list of companies that have left Iran. The head of the Computer Technology Association, Mohammadreza Faraji Tehrani, also affirmed the problem and underlined how sanctions affect Iran's technology market.

He mentioned the difficulties involved with importing IT equipment and stated that they are attempting to solve the problem indirectly.

"Due to the sanctions, importers are forced to use indirect methods, which causes problems such as registering orders and allocating currency," Faraji Tehrani explained.

It should be noted that a few years ago, the European investment company IIIC withdrew its investment in the Iranian online shopping chain "Dicikala" from Iran.

In December 2024, Safola Holding, Saudi Arabia's largest investor in Iran withdrew its $188 million investment.
