Employees and retirees of the Iranian Telecommunication Company protested on a weekly basis in South Azerbaijan's cities of Urmia, Tabriz, and Zanjan.
Labor movement activists reported on the protest held on January 27.
In front of the Ministry of Communications' local office, pensioners gathered to protest the denial of their pension increases, their late payments, and the infringement of other legal rights.
The Ministry of Communications supports shareholders in communications companies and ignores the rights of employees and pensioners, protesters said, holding up posters that reflected their demands.
It should be mentioned that the pensioners' issues have not been resolved despite their actions and demands for nearly three years.
