In this regard, they cited serious human rights violations committed by the Islamic Republic of Iran's authorities, specifically the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and the Basij, during the September 2022 protests.

A fair trial and due process of law, the right to religion, expression, peaceful assembly and association, the right to personal integrity, the right to health, the right to education, the right to livelihood, and the right to work were among the rights that were violated in Iran, according to the resolution.

Furthermore, "the regime's extreme violence and brutality against women and girls, the widespread use of the death penalty as an instrument of intimidation, and the violations of human rights in Iran" were all strongly denounced in the resolution.

The French delegates highlighted the prevalence of extreme violence by Iran's religious regime and claimed that the Tehran regime uses rape, torture, imprisonment, enforced disappearances, murder, and other sexual violence as part of its discriminatory policies.

The resolution denounced the Iranian regime's systematic discrimination against women through a number of laws and regulations that severely limit their freedom, life, and livelihood opportunities. It was approved by 105 members of the French National Assembly.

The representatives of the French National Assembly reaffirmed their unwavering support for Iranian women's freedom, life, and movement.

Earlier, on November 28, members of the European Parliament passed a resolution calling on the Islamic Republic of Iran's government to repeal "discriminatory laws" that target Iranian women and girls and denouncing the "arbitrary detention of women" in Iran.
