The decision issued by the General Prosecutor's Office of the city of Baharestan stated: "Alirza Farshi Dizjikan (Bahmen oglu), who is currently at large, is accused of carrying out propaganda against the Islamic Republic. Based on the report of the Intelligence Department of the Baharestan region, a court investigation has been launched. It is reported that his guilt has been proven, and accordingly, a decision has been made to continue the criminal case."

In a comment on his Instagram page, Alirza Farshi said: "For more than a year, I declare that I have been living in the city of Marand, and taking into account the Criminal Procedure Law, even if there is an accusation against me, you do not have the right to consider this accusation in the city of Baharestan and in this area where I have no connection. I have not been there in any authorized way since 2019, but I will still be tried in a city that is more than 700 km away."

Alireza Farshi was released from Evin Prison on February 19, 2023, having served three years and three months of a four-year sentence.

Furthermore, on June 13, 2024, this Azerbaijani activist wrote about his two-year forced settlement sentence and stated that he would not return to Baghmalek, Khuzestan, if he did not comply with it.

He is a professor who was expelled from Jalfa International University, the founder of the One Turkish Library for Every Turkish Village campaign, a member of the National Intellectual Foundation, the son of a martyred commander, and a well-known civic activist from Marand.
