In addition to a shortage of hospital beds, Ardabil province faces a shortage of specialist medical personnel.
This was reported by Behzad Davarnia, the rector of Ardabil University of Medical Sciences.
He also highlighted the fact that many hospitals are unusable and old, making it difficult to provide patient care.
"In terms of a lack of human resources, we are 56% behind the national average, and we are among the provinces with an acute shortage of hospital beds," Davarnia stated.
He warned that if the University of Medical Sciences' personnel shortage is not addressed, serious real-world problems will arise, and some hospital specialized departments, such as radiology, ultrasound, and others, will close.
