This was stated in a statement issued by the "No to Executions Campaign". The Campaign, which began in January 2024, has gained significant momentum, with detainees organizing weekly acts of defiance against the Iranian regime’s systematic execution of political prisoners and other detainees.

The hunger strike is being held for the 58th time on the second day of each week, and at the same time, families of prisoners who have been sentenced to death gathered in front of Evin Prison in Tehran to protest the growing number of death sentences in the country.

It should be noted that in 2024, more than 1,000 prisoners were executed in Iran, of whom 975 were identified.

The prisoners who are protesting want to bring the attention of the international community and human rights organizations to the growing number of death sentences in the country.
