Vadud Asadi was transferred to Evin Prison

Vadud Asadi, a national activist from Rasht, Gilan Province, has been transferred to Evin Prison in Tehran to serve a nine-month sentence.

He was reportedly taken to prison after being summoned to the 1st Department of the Court Sentence Execution Department of Tehran's 33rd District.

Vadud Asadi, accused of "colluding to attack the country's national security," received a four-year prison sentence. Following an appeal, the arrest warrant against him was reduced to one year, then to nine months.

Asadi was arrested on February 6, 2024 and transferred to Tehran's Evin Prison, before being temporarily released on bail on March 9 pending trial. Vadud Asadi has been detained multiple times for his peaceful and cultural activities.
