Israel and Hamas have been presented with a new 60-day ceasefire plan in the Gaza Strip by Egypt.

The report claims that the Egyptian plan is a new road map that was agreed upon with the United States and is meant to break the deadlock that has existed since the ceasefire in Gaza ended on March 1.

The Egyptian plan calls for the release of all or some of the ten hostages, including five Americans, who are being held in the Palestinian enclave during the first phase of the ceasefire.

The hostages' release is expected to happen gradually, according to sources. Israel is going to free a specific number of Palestinian prisoners at each development.

According to reports, some of those set to be released in the first phase may be high-ranking Palestinian leaders. The plan also proposes lifting Israel's ban on delivering humanitarian aid, fuel, and essential supplies to the Gaza Strip.

If the negotiations are successful, talks about completely withdrawing Israeli troops from the Gaza Strip and establishing a permanent ceasefire could begin.
