Nine people were executed in the prisons of Urmia, Hamadan, Nahavand, and Bandar Abbas, the capital of Hormuzgan province in South Azerbaijan.
Human rights organizations have reported this.
According to reports, five of those executed were accused of murder and four of drug trafficking.
Two of the four executed in Urmia were women, while three in Bandar Abbas were Afghan citizens.
It should be noted that in 2024, more than 1,000 prisoners were executed in Iran, with 975 of them identified.
This is the highest number of executions in Iran in the last three decades.
