Most Iranian regions are expected to receive drinking water on a quota basis in the coming months.

This was reported in local media.

"In the current water year, the flow of water into dams and reservoirs decreased by 38 percent compared to the same period last year. The flow of water, which was 21.2 billion cubic meters last year, has reached 13.15 billion cubic meters this year," the report said.

According to the report, another major contributor to the water crisis, particularly in some provinces, is the establishment of water-intensive industries and the continued practice of traditional agriculture in arid regions.
