Pezeshkian: We are ready to reach an agreement with America

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian confirmed on Monday that his country is ready to reach an agreement with the United States within a specific framework.

Pezeshkian said in press statements followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "We are ready to reach an agreement with the United States within a specific framework while preserving national interests."

He added, "If the Americans do not want to negotiate on an equal footing, we will continue on our path. We are neither optimistic nor pessimistic." He emphasized, "We do not desire conflict with anyone, but we do not accept tyranny and bullying."

 

It should be mentioned that the first round of U.S.-Iranian talks on nuclear issues and the lifting of sanctions concluded on April 12.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and US Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Whitkoff represented the parties, while Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi served as a mediator.

On April 19, the second round of negotiations was held in Rome.
