Protest was staged outside of Evin Prison

Families of political prisoners detained at Tehran's Evin Prison staged a demonstration in front of the facility to voice their opposition to the rise in death sentences and call for an end to this form of punishment, human rights organizations report.

Protesters, holding placards with slogans like "No to executions" and "Stop executions," have requested assistance from human rights organizations.

Meanwhile, dozens of Iranian political prisoners housed in 41 prisons have started a 24-hour hunger strike in protest of the executions.

It should be mentioned that 54 inmates in Iranian prisons have received death sentences due to their political beliefs.
