The UK wants to participate in the Iran talks

British Foreign Secretary David Lemmy's high-level meetings with Omani officials on April 27 - just a day after Iran and the US held Omani-brokered talks in Rome - show the UK's willingness to no longer be an observer in one of the region's most influential diplomatic processes.

Furthermore, the UK wanted to meet with Iranian officials before the US-Iran talks on May 2, which were subsequently canceled.

It should be noted that, at the end of March, British Foreign Secretary David Lemmy expressed solidarity with the United States and a shared commitment to preventing Iran from developing or acquiring nuclear weapons.

In the midst of all this, on May 4, British police arrested seven Iranian citizens on terrorism charges. This demonstrates that the United Kingdom is also interested in the success of the negotiations with Iran for its own security.

It is worth noting that the Iranians arrested a British couple in Kerman in January. As a result, a potential prisoner exchange between the two countries is now on the public agenda.
